About
Yan Ruan is a writer and artist with an MFA in Fiction from Brooklyn College, where she received the Himan Brown Award and the Lainoff Prize. Her work has appeared in Pigeon Pages, The Rumpus, Volume, and elsewhere, and one of her stories was shortlisted for The Masters Review Short Story Award.
Yan also holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology at University of Rochester, where she received the Emory Cowan Award for best first-authored publication, and the APA Dissertation Research Award. Yan's research examines emotion regulation processes in intimate relationships.
